    Netflix x265 Netflix, not available

    I am trying to download in x265 and it won't let me select any resolution. The same thing happens with Dolby Vision.

    Not everything has HDR10/HDR10+ or DoVi

    Although there are now more non-Netflix made titles available in H265 HDR10 (like all 3 Naked Gun movies and Primal Fear to name a few), rule of thumb is that movies and TV Shows made by Netflix will have H265 HDR10 and AV1 HDR10+.

    When you can't pick a resolution, it means that codec doesn't exist for that title.

    So try something that has the N on the thumbnail to see if you get H265 HDR10. You can also try the movies i mentioned. If you have never seen Primal Fear, download and watch it. Great movie!

      I have a hard time finding anything on Netflix that will give me anything better than DVD quality. Ive been trying to get "The Jerk". Codecs dont come up for x265 and only dvd res for 264

        On Netflix, anything by Universal Studios, Sony Pictures, Columbia and all their subsidiaries are only available in SD

          I think it's because the account plan has been reduced. I share the account with someone else, and this month they reduced the plan, so I think that's why I can't see content in x265-HDR, since the plan that has HDR is the latest one.

              I have the premium plan with no ads, and there are still a lot of old movies, like "The Man Who Knew Too Much" which will only download as DVD quality even though they have a 4K copy. For a lot of old Universal movies, I've found Peacock works better (I do that via Amazon).

                Standard Plan => no HDR
                Premium Plan => HDR, if available for x265 + AV1

                But "The Jerk" is with all plans maximal in 540p offered,
                because NF limit the resolution for Universal Movies in Chrome (see jpp72)
                and movies limited to 540p are not offered in x265 anyway

                  Peacock? I have never seen Peacock available as an Amazon Channel

                    LOL... you are correct sir. I should not reply prior to my coffee kicking here
                    Yes, I use peacock VIP module in SF. I think I had just read thread about P+ so that was where that brainfart came from. I use P+ via Amazon.
