This is what Google AI says:
No, 986x720 is not 720p.
720p, or high definition (HD) resolution, specifically refers to a display resolution of 1280 pixels horizontally by 720 pixels vertically. The "p" stands for progressive scanning, where each frame of the video is displayed in full, line by line.
While 986x720 has 720 vertical pixels, the horizontal resolution is significantly lower than the 1280 required for 720p. It's possible that 986x720 is a non-standard resolution or a scaled version, but it is not formally recognized as 720p HD.Last edited by Stan001; 08-18-2025, 04:14 AM.Things can't be fully accomplished without proper access.

Is that not 720p, just a 4:3 AR?Originally posted by Stan001 View PostWhile 986x720 has 720 vertical pixels, the horizontal resolution is significantly lower than the 1280 required for 720p. Much like 1440 x 1080.

I am downloading now, and even there SF says 720P, so will wait till the download is finished.
NOW finished MediaInfo:
So keying off the fact it's a non-standard resolution for 720 then Mediainfo must want to show it as 576.
So I don't think it's worth discussing differences in 4:3 or 16:9 or whatever, the best video resolution, via MediaInfo they will get, is above in the screenshot.
There is a little more discussion on this here > https://forum.dvdfab.cn/forum/stream...607#post448607
FROM ABOVE POST:
Because aspect ratios vary by content, you could see the following for 720p when the black bars are not part of the image:
1280 x 692 which is 1.85:1
1280 x 640 which is 2.0:1
1280 x 544 which is 2.35:1
1280 x 524 which is 2.4:1
960 x 720 is 4x3 or 1.33:1Last edited by Stan001; 08-18-2025, 04:23 AM.Things can't be fully accomplished without proper access.

Please note that AI does make mistakes. Quite often actually.Originally posted by Stan001 View PostThis is what Google AI says:

986x720 IS 720p.
The problem is that what is being downloaded is not the resolution it says it will download.

It's quite simple. There are basically two types of TV formats: 4:3 and 16:9. 16:9 also includes the extra-wide cinema formats.
Therefore, for example, 1920x800 also actually falls into the 1080p range, meaning it's also Full HD.

True, but GPT 5 is better in this respect, it cheats and assumes less.Originally posted by jpp72 View Post

Why? I click on Copiliot in the top right corner of Edge. If I select 986x720 (correct info in m3u8) with SF (for Win not Mac) I get also 790x576Originally posted by Bluey11 View PostTubi offers Looney Tunes at 720p and I get it downloaded at 576p?
Code:[Info]: [Analyze Dlg]: Record add to queue -- Resolution: "986:720:3047401" [Info]: AddVideoItem max resolution (790 x 576)

Because CEF (Browser in SF) can't get max resolution ..

Trust me, it's not. I use it in my job all the time. Different models are good at different things and the daily limits are very easy to reach if you truly use it and have a back and forth. Especially for coding. I still reach the daily limits even when paying but instead of reaching it after 4-5 back and forth, it's after 15-20Originally posted by Sebastian001 View Post

Yes, the Google AI info took this way off. When the SF download window pops up, it says 986*720. Even while downloading, it says 720, and that's what most would think they are going to get.
Please note that AI does make mistakes. Quite often actually.
986x720 IS 720p.
The problem is that what is being downloaded is not the resolution it says it will download.
Instead, it gets 790*576.
So OP may have to accept this, as I highly doubt SF sees this as a high priority to try to fix, if it's even possible to fix in SF, although it is a bug in SF.
