Amazon Warning email from Amazon - the story continues

I just got a warning email recently (Important Notice, Account Specialist, etc. like in https://forum.dvdfab.cn/forum/stream...il-from-amazon).

It is a result of downloading via SF 6.2.5.0-6.2.5.3, since less than a month, from Amazon Prime and AppleTV+ subscription, nothing else (no VOD purchases).

    So we're still not safe.

This Amazon account is too important for me to proceed further, I'm giving up.

    Wilson.Wang please take a look.

Jack, how are things going with you?

NEVER use the update function within Streamfab. Always download the offline file!

Work has been quite insane lately so my usage is way down. I also am having issues on both my Canadian and US accounts. Don't want to go into details because this is a public forum but i currently can only download from Prime and a specific channel in Canada and only Prime in the US.

No warning but that is to be expected as i only downloaded a few things and only started recently

Clearly 100 items per day is too much... but it would be nice to know what amount of activity is considered low enough to not to trigger anything.

        ... anyone?

So you are saying this is your 2nd warning?

If it's your first warning, did you pause your downloading at all? If you did, how long did you pause?

For a first warning, there is no way of knowing if it's from 6.2.5.0+.

When i got the US Warning, i stopped for like a full month. Same for Canada. Yet, i only got the Canada warning like a month after i stopped downloading

Yes my usage is nowhere near what it was but i did download some stuff.

The only way to be and stay safe is not use SF, unless your part of a very small group who say they keep downloading and get no notices.

Torrents and newsgroups still flood the network with Amazon rips, but it's more likely with them, they use something different than SF.

And SF let it known before they are not sure what caused it, they assumed an API change was needed, and they added an internal script that they say makes it look like you watched the movie.
Things can't be fully accomplished without proper access.
Things need to be done with active moderatoration.

Disclaimer: Use of a VPN can NOT be fixed by StreamFab staff or members.

This is my first warning (is there a second one? I got the impression that the second warning is just a 'say bye-bye to your account').

I am pretty sure this is from 6.2.5.0+. Here's my investigation of the HDD contents (just Amazon downloads):
              • at the end of March there are some downloads, the last version of SF used was 6.2.4.2
              • zero downloads in April, May, June and most of July
              • ~15 items at the end of July via SF 6.2.4.6
              • after that, straight cut to SF 6.2.5.0 and the middle of August: AppleTV+ subscription and a lot of downloads

Was the notice also in your Amazon account messages or just the random email? I get phishing emails every week about my various streaming, social, banking and hosting accounts all being in peril, and total scams.

I'm still downloading from Amazon (including subscription channels, not on trial periods) here in the U.S., full paid up and verified no-ad accounts, no VPN, no rental rips, my ratio of watch to rip is 50 to 1.

Yup, it's there in my Amazon 'Inbox', although this is on amazon.co.uk - and it is the only message there, all the other messages (including the ones about subscriptions and deliveries) are on amazon.pl, exclusively.

The only behaviour that differs and is obvious is that SF doesn't do callbacks to set the "watch progress" on the title; I know once-has-been-stream used to do it at the beginning but then they abandoned that... So could be something as trivial as that...

Although you've not told us if you let the ATV+ sub run for the entire period or cancelled it and got a full refund within the permitted limits (bearing in mind that the permitted limits are longer in the UK and the EU cf. the US).

Paid for one month so far, still going...

As far as detection works, a simple stat showing that you got through 100 items per day is also suspicious, done day-by-day might be a basis for a warning in itself. Also, starting to watch an episode and then starting another after a few minutes is strange, done for a whole series would be a fingerprint from SF. Just speculating - it can really be anything.

The most important thing I already got from this thread - is that downloading a very moderate amount of Amazon stuff seems safe - so far. If someone experienced something different - please say so.

I'm only doing moderate downloads now if some old movie or something pops in. Or a series on Apple+. I bulk downloaded a ton of stuff in Q1 as I was trying to dump some 20+ year old DVDs in favor of episodic rips for using in my new Zidoo box. DVD iso of stuff I own can be funky. Obviously moderation is good in all things, except coffee.

Maybe the quite new AppleTV+ is the trigger.

There won't be a second warning.

If you continue, the next message will be We have indefinitely suspended this account.

And this means completely. Echos, Fires, everything is gone.

                          AppleTV+, amazon.co.uk... been there.

Interesting, I recently added ATV+ for the first time and I got an email as well.

Here's the question though, has anyone received the message with a new account that never ever used any version before the "fix" was implemented? What if they are just slowly looking at logs etc and getting around to it because its using some AI thing? It seems to me that OP used an old version to download back in march then took a hiatus and then started again.
