Unable to open StreamFab after fresh install

It has not prompted me to authorize except the first time I installed it years back, even after complete wipes of the files, registry and all.
Anyway, sad to see even the non-x64 version doesn't work and gives such a vague error in the event viewer as the x64 version.
I guess to me, the cache and temp that are in the location %HOMEPATH%\Documents\DVDFab\StreamFab\ are more likely to cause crashes and are important to be removed; in fact, again I can only say what works for me, remove everything there, as that is what works for me if it crashes, but I never had it go into not responding that I can recall.
Again, hope it works out, and good luck, and if it does ever work, try to post a follow-up.
ADDED: I think by now knowing I had a working VM of Win 10 and SF, I would use it through the VM. Although I have never used SF on a VM, so not sure how well it would perform, but you said it did load and should work at least more than the one on your main computer.Last edited by Stan001; 09-17-2025, 12:18 AM.Things can't be fully accomplished without proper access.

So interesting, trying things today, full uninstall clean, I reinstalled 6.2.4.7 got the usual authorize / login prompt. It opened up but trying to use any of the services, nothing would load in the browser. But if I switched my default browser in Windows from Chrome to Edge and restarted the application, now the services load (Amazon, Netflix, ect). Going one step further, trying to reinstall new version clean with Edge set as default browser still same results installs, opens to splash screen but locks up no prompt for auth (doesn't make it that far). So I guess I'm stuck with 6.2.4.7 with edge as default for the time being

It is weird because at most points it seems it's a computer issue, but then 6247 works.
And I still go back to you saying you tried a Win 10 VM and the latest SF version worked.
So, not sure if there is anything anyone can really do, as it's not an SF issue. Not even SF feedback could help.
There are still many things, and to go into them all would still even possibly miss something.
Can be something installed that doesn't like versions over 6247. It can be some crazy update on your system, to Windows or another program.
But with the Win 10 VM working, you pretty much eliminated its versions over 6247 and eliminated Win 10 because of the VM.
As well as others who still have Win 10 say the later versions work.
Plus, no one else has issues, although I think fewer and fewer have Windows 10; it's time for Windows 11. I think I just saw Win 10 has about 30 days left of support from Microsoft, at best.
