Hello... I am ripping some 4K movies and I just ran into something odd where the ripped movie was much larger than the original. The movie is the original 1984 Ghostbusters. I am ripping using CODA/Nvidia GTX 1050. Hardware encoding is enabled.
This is what I am seeing...
Original movie folder size = 57.6 GB
Passthrough ripped movie = 46.3 GB
Movie ripped at 20 CRF = 64.8 GB
Movie ripped at 24 CRF = 37.3 GB
Why would the movie at 20 CRF be ~40% larger than the original? Is there an explanation for this?
