    Installation Movie Server HDD Utilization

With Movie Server up and running and a HDD installed in it, I tried an initial run of DVDFab 10 ripping a Bluray disc to the Movie Server.

I put the disc into my DVDFab 10 PC and selected to save as ISO. In the destination dropdown box, I selected DVDFab Movie Server.

I immediately got a message "Not have enough free space on DVDFab Movie Server, please clean the hard disk or change to another hard disk."

Given that my HDD should be essentially empty, how is this so?

How do I do this "clean the hard disk"?

Did you format the HDD before installing it?
DVDFab is the all-in-one software package for copying Blu-ray/DVD and converting video file.

I thought about this too, since I bought a new HD -- But since, I haven't received my yet, I am not sure .... do the server formats the HDD?

Usually formatting a HD require a PC. etc ...

      Thanks

I can use the HDD as the destination in Ripper but Copy returns the not enough free space message.
How to post the internal log

Is this deleting files on HDD done from:

            Within DVDFab movie Server?

            or

Removing the HDD and doing this deletion elsewhere?

I took the initiative and pulled the HDD from DVDFab Movie Server. I put it in a PC and reformatted the HDD. Then I put it back into DVDFab Movie Server.

When I power it up, the front display shows the time and all I get is a picture of a bunch of green leaves. Other than power, none of the buttons on the remote now seem to do anything.

To remedy this, I did a reset of DVDFab Movie Server with the recessed reset button on it's back. Now I can see the Main Menu icons and use them.

                Hi,

The warning message in DVDFab will be improved in the next version if it's a new HDD in movie server. But you still need to format it manually on your PC. NTFS, EXT3 or EXT4.

                Thanks.

                  Hello Wilson,

I haven't received mind yet -- I live in Florida, so it's a long travel from China -- But in the plus-side, at least I know what to do now when it gets here, especially since I have a new HDD for the MS! Etc!

                  Kind Regards

Easier said than done. Many desktop PC's have a BIOS that will not recognize large HDD's.

                      Hi,

Not recommending or suggesting u buy EHD-- External hard drive ports will do the job in formatting, without the bios interfering in any which way! I have a few EDH running at usb 3!

                      Good Luck

Does it need to GPT or MBR formatting?

If the drive is larger than 2TB better use GPT.
