    NAS HDD for Media Server?

Is it ok, or even preferred to use a NAS HDD instead of a desktop HDD? I was looking at the HGST Deskstar 7200rmp 128MB Cache NAS drive for my yet to be delivered media server.

    Thanks!

Those are great drives, it should be fine. If it is > 2GB, allow the MS to format it. Another tip: you will be happier with the performance if you connect the MS to your network via the ethernet port.
