DMS v2.0.2.0 V2.0.2.0 Wiped Out All My Movies

Installed V2.0.2.0 and now all my movie wall posters are gone, it's telling me my library is empty, its telling me to build up my library, I can see it scanning the hard drive but the wall poster will not appear. TV section is working and all my TV series are there, I can see those wall posters but not Movies. Shut and powered off the DMS 3 times, nothing. Any suggestions before I roll back to 2.0.1.3?

    D2E,
Let it run a while, it may still be rebuilding the library. I have not done mine yet, I will let you know how it goes.

Please clarify if it actually deleted the movie files from the internal HDD.

Okay thanks signals. I will leave it alone and let it do its thing and check back on it in awhile, have errors to run anyway. I'll get back with an update.

Movie library still would not show up after 2.5 hours. Tried factory reset, no change, then update library, still no change....then did a rebuild library then everything showed up again for movies and TV. This is something that is new after an install for me, never had to use rebuild library before....except for that one time going from firmware V1XXX over to using V2XXX firmware. Everything is back and in alphabetical order, which it wasn't before, movies was in the order I ripped them onto the server, so all is good now.

Just tried the customize posters for three Instructional Videos that I have that are in Videos with no linkable wall posters for them, it worked flawless and just created customize wall posters for them. Also tried view movies by list or content, custom posters and backgrounds....this is a nice update and all that was needed for the asking......will try more in time as I do not need to delete anything yet or add anymore collections. Having to be able to do custom posters in general is huge!

I have exactly the same - all movies apparently wiped from the library. However, on the poster wall it says there are 745 movies, but none of them show up. The same in the Web tool. Rescanning the movies does not fix it. It seems to think it has the movies, but cannot display them - so re-scraping does not find them because it thinks it already has them... TV Shows unaffected. I've tried re-booting, re-scanning etc and it doesn't fix it. Next step is to try rebuilding the library. Weeks of work lost! Not happy at all....

Saturn V.....sorry to hear you have to do a rebuild of the library...this should be the last resort in getting the library back and organized. It unfixes what you fixed if it's not correct and things you have customized, so yes you have to go and put everything back as you once had it. This should be addressed or say this will happen with this update I think.

Had the same issue listed by others here. Some collections showed but nothing listed under the movies section. Let it run for 2.5 hours with no change.
Did a rebuild and all movies seem to be there. Very few collections are showing up. Only 14 so far and it does not seem to be adding any more. Has not even made my
James Bond collection. Gonna let it run overnight.
                a couple of questions.
                How do you make collections?
Can collections be made from the Web App? I can't seem to find a way.

I confirm that in my case, nothing was deleted from hard disk. I had to do clear DVD Fab MS data to trigger the library build and it's now found everything again - although lots of hard work still to do to get back to where I was before..

                    To create a collection:

Arrow up on the remote to get to the 'Function Menu', tab over to 'Custom Collection'. If no custom collections is found, its going to say to create one click the 'Menu' button on the remote. A left side bar is going to pop up with 'Create' /' Delete' . Press 'Create' Then type in whatever collections in the box.....For example lets say you want to create a 'Jaws' collection. Type 'Jaws'. After you create it, it be a blank white custom collection wall poster on the wall underneath your regular wall posters with a number zero on it since it is empty. Click on the empty blank wall poster and it is going to say custom collection is still empty press the 'Menu' button on the remote again, press 'Menu' button and a left side bar is going to reappear with 'Add' / 'Delete this time. Press 'Add'. then it will ask you what it is 'Movie', 'TV', 'Video'. Press 'Movie' for 'Jaws'. A vertical keyboard will pop up, type the letter 'J' and all the movies that start with the letter 'J' will populate for you to pick all the 'Jaw' movies to be put into that collection. Go back to your wall and the collection you just created will be updated with all the movies.

Can collections be made from the Web App?

No, at least that I could see, tell or find. Looks like it is only for viewing your collections. From the update notes of what was updated this is what is noted about that:

New: Introduced the Custom Collections section in the DMS Web App to display users’ own collections.

                      D2E,
                      Thanks for the info.
Sure wish it could be down from the Web App. Would make it so much easier.
Making a James Bond collection is going to take a while.
Not sure why this version made so few collections during the rebuild. In previous versions it made a lot.
This time it only made 14 compared to over 100 in the past

Much welcome Hunter1995...about your collections...I know you have had your movie server as long as I have had mines, so you was putting collection and movies on it with V1.0.1.0. It didn't have a .nfo file ike V2XXX does as a reference but V1.0.1.0 somehow magically was able to scape movies even if the movie title was changed, shortened or abbreviated. The three collections that were a pain for me after V1.0.1.0 were James Bond, Resident Evil and Underworld, just about all of those inside the collection went to the server different from it's title. I found that a lot of movies was renamed and abbreviated, so much I had to play the movie to find out what it was labeled as such on the HDD. It played okay so I left it and was too lazy to fix it. (Wished I had though)

This might be what is going on with you with it not doing a good rebuild after you do a rebuild.

After installing the first advent of V2XXX, things were so messed up I went back to V1.01.0. Noticed new members on the board was loving their DMS while I was hating mines and wasn't having the same problems. So it was how the new firmware updates was changing how movies were being scraped. Thinking V2.0.2.0 has changed how movies are being scraped since it forces a rebuild.....it took me 2 weeks at first (not now..at first) with using V2XXX to get every last movie just the way it is on the TMDB and TVDB. It's a pain but, you have to keep doing a rebuild of the library until every single movie and collection shows up correctly after you fix it with no changes. I haven't lost any movies or had to change or collections since putting in that time after doing continuous libary rebuilds, I don't like doing it but I know I can.

I did a library rebuild and all my collections are still perfect like with the last version. Including my James Bond Collection.

Well I have performed 5 rebuilds and come up with the same 1077 movies and the same 14 collections. I have not had this issue with collections in previous versions
of DVDFAB. The only difference on my server is I am using all MP4 video files(to save disk space) compared to ISO files in the past but the last release found the collections of the MP4's.
Not sure what is different this time around.

Movies seem good so far. The only movie that I cannot fix match is "How We Met" 2016. It will not find that movie at all
