Cooling fan will not shut off, don't want it to burn out. Any way to reset it or a fix for it? I've tried the various settings and nothing. Any help would be appreciated.

Does it run at very high speed at all times? Does it continue to run after shutdown?Supplying DVDFab Logs in the Forum ...........................User Manual PDF for DVDFab v11................................ Guide: Using Images in Posts

Thanks for the reply Signals. It runs constantly at a lower speed. Even if I go into setting and tell it to turn it off. It doesn't run when unit is turned off. My second movie server doesn't do that, it only turns on when needed. I just don't want it to burn the fan out by constantly running.

I have two also, one from back before they were put on sale, the other from about a year ago. The fans in both run very slowly most of the time when it is idle but they are both set to turn on at the same temp, about 38C as I recall. I can’t hear either one unless I watch a long movie or the drive is writing a movie from Fab. I think the continuous slow speed is normal, if it is loud enough for you to hear when the DMS is idle something may be amiss. These are generic DC fans that could be replaced by any pc or audio repair shop if they should ever actually fail.Supplying DVDFab Logs in the Forum ...........................User Manual PDF for DVDFab v11................................ Look for replacements at www.goldmine-elec.com or www.mpja.com, I have bought similar ones at both places. Let me know how this turns out.Supplying DVDFab Logs in the Forum ...........................User Manual PDF for DVDFab v11................................ Guide: Using Images in Posts

If you are handy with electronics, you can try disassembling the DMS and make sure the fan is firmly seated. It sits in a small channel on the left side, near the front. It does sound like something sticking into the fan assembly being struck by one of the blades. A bad bearing would make a more or less constant screeching noise, something being hit by a blade would be more of a ticking or clicking. The Service Team will have to make a recommendation on how to deal with this as far as returning for repair or exchanging it. Sorry for the problem!Supplying DVDFab Logs in the Forum ...........................User Manual PDF for DVDFab v11................................ Guide: Using Images in Posts

You will not void the warranty if you are doing something the staff advised you to do.
I have sent them a message about your problem, so look for a note from Mona or her staff when the office reopens Monday morning Beijing time (tonight in the Western Hemisphere). This could be in the form of a forum private message.Supplying DVDFab Logs in the Forum ...........................User Manual PDF for DVDFab v11................................
