It would be great to be able to turn this off so that the software will work without an internet connection. Sometimes my cable modem can not get access so it is impossible to copy anything which makes the software unusable. This is a real pain on blu ray as there is so much data and the cost of fast upload speeds is pricy.

It's not uploads, it's downloads. This technology makes it possible 1) for the DVDFab installer to be much smaller and 2) allows updates for new copy protection or authoring problems directly from the server without having to wait for a new version to be released.
