DVD Copy DVD Copy / Rip - PS3 Option

Apologies if this has already been covered, but it would be an easy thing to do and resolve a (self imposed) PS3 limitation:

The PS3 wont play DVDs over a network when they exist in the AUDIO_TS VIDEO_TS structure. In order to maintain quality, I've found the following works well and takes very little time:

    1. Use DVDFab to make a Main Movie copy to disk.
    2. Use VOB2MPG (Freeware) to convert the copy to a single .mpg file (takes less than 10mins)
    3. Rename file to .TS

No transcoding has taken place and this file can be played over a network by a PS3 or PC running WMC, for example.

    Great program by the way.

VOB passthrough should do the same thing for you, rename the .vob

This feature already exists in DVDFab, it is called VOB Passthrough and is in DVD Ripper. It produces MPEG-2 output with a VOB file extension that can be changed to .mpg if necessary in windows explorer. It is very fast. It should play in even the PS-3 which Sony has purposely crippled as a media player in many ways.
