Need a freeware DVD to AVI converter

Hi all:

I was wondering if anyone knows of a decent freeware DVD to AVI converter? I'd like to stream some of my family DVD videos through my Xbox and I've got it all set up except for a way to convert my DVDs. I'm not a real expert at this stuff and DVDFAB has been a great tool.

However, unless I've missed something, DVDFAB won't do what I need.

Can anyone help?

The free version of DVDFab won't do it but the paid version will if you also get the DVD to Mobile option. This is the wrong place to ask for free things to do what the product that pays for this forum does.
