    Purchase Options?

I'm looking to buy the software, and stumbled unto this site:

    dvdfab6.com

which offers DVDFab Platinum 6 (all modules, lifetime license) for much less
    than the "official site" www.dvdfab.com

Does anyone know if this is an legitimate offer, will I have to pay more
to get to the current versions?

This is most definitely a SCAM site and you will end up having to pay for it all again as the keys that they supply will either expire or get blacklisted.

The only OFFICIAL place to purchase Fab is www.dvdfab.com which will also transfer you to www.dvdfab.net during the purchase process.

      It's a scam.
The only legitimate site is DVDFab.com which will link you to DVDFab.net which is where you will actually make the purchase.
      The vendor is Avangate.
Do not purchase anywhere else. The key will fail after the 30 free-trial

          Morning Maineman,

Don't forget that I am just starting my day here whilst you must be nearly ready to hit the sack.

Thanks GregiBoy. I thought as much, (if it looks too good to be true...) but figured you guys would know for sure.

Yes, we have had numerous users report that site, but unfortunately there is very little that can be done about them as the seem to live in the ether of the internet.

Just be thankful that you had the sense to ask here first and not get caught by these rogues.

                Avangate's payment validation

I purchased DVDfab recently and was surprised when Avangate emailed me a request for more information.

"You have placed an order on http://www.dvdfab.net on 2010-xx-xx (order reference number: #xxxxxxx), order processed by Avangate as the reseller of DVDFab Software Inc, the merchant operating http://www.dvdfab.net, order paid with Credit/Debit card.

Your order is currently under evaluation by Avangate antifraud specialists. We perform this verification to prevent unauthorized use of your Credit/Debit Card and personal details.

In order to validate your payment and complete your order, please provide us with the following documents during the next two business
                days:

                - a copy of a photo ID (identification card, driver`s license or
passport) of the Credit/Debit Card account holder.
                - Proof of Valid billing address: Utility Bill."

I've never been asked for such information for any online purchase and I had second thoughts about completing the transaction. I googled Avangate and they seem to be reputable, so I supplied the information.

Have others been asked for this information too?

Having this information would give Avangate a headstart towards stealing your identify if they were so inclined. Or if they were hacked. Just wondering how others felt about supplying this information to Avangate?

I have never been asked for anything like that from Avangate, but it has nothing to do with DVDFab. They (Avangate) apparently had some reason for triggering the request. They are a legit payment processor and have been handling the DVDFab payments for years. Just make sure the request you got actually came from them.

Above mostly happens when entered location is different than payment location (e. g. to avoid taxes).
