I have DVD Fab 6 and it works great. I also have V8 and I can't get it to work. I see V8 says that I can convert movies to put on my computer which is what I want so I can put them on my network drive and my Android device. What do I need to do to get V8 to work and allow these features?

You need to supply more information on how v8 fails to work. You will need v8 to decrypt newer movies. Either v6 or v8 will write files to a hard drive.
