Error when attempting to convert video -- latest version

I am using the 8.0.9.2 QT build.

I am trying to convert a movie to 3D using the 2D-3D video converter app. I have an HD6870 card and I can't encode anything from the video conversion app. I have tried turning off hardware encoding and it won't let me select ATI Stream.

Here is the error I am receiving.
Conversion: two pass - first pass: 20:00:07
    Work 1 failed, Error = 504.00 0 error: process exception, filter(type1:id26), info = 503.00 13,

    : 20:00:16

    this is a win 7 x64 machine

    Thanks in advance.

    @Steiner
    Please post all logs.
In a meanwhile, please try one-pass process instead of two-pass and let us know the result.

I am trying with a smaller video, one-pass and software decode/encode - it is now converting.

I will post the files when the encode is complete.

Also - I am running the latest ATI drivers (along with the CODEC pack).

ATI Stream support is currently decode only, due to some driver limitations (according to the DVDFab release notes).

So - the issue is with (still software encode/decode) the 2 pass (HQ ) setting.

I ran it with 2 pass to get it to fail - then started it again with one pass (same video/etc) and now it is working again.

          Here are the logs.

          Thanks

I have forwarded your information to developers. Please keep eye on this thread - they will respond to this issue.
Also, you can try 1-pass with hardware acceleration and see if it works. BTW, I found 1-pass much higher quality and higher conversion speed vs. 2-pass. I never use 2-pass in DVDFab

              Hi Steiner
Please make sure that Fab is set correctly to your default language for this error in your logs, 0m 01.31s: Qt Translator file load failed, the *.qm path is C:\PROGRA~2\DVDFAB~1\QLanguage\DVDFabQt_.qm
to do this please see this post .
              Hope this helps

                I set the language --
Tried again - once with 2 pass and failed. Once with 1 pass and DXVA decode - both failed.

                  Hi Steiner
Unless you have a high end NVidia card with the latest firmware installed you are better off using the software settings.

Please Open Fab click the Click the Green at top right corner of the DVDFab screen, and open Common Settings > General >A/V Codec, set Video Decoder to Software and set Video Encoder to Software restart Fab and try again.

You may also try disabling the Enable Lightning-Recoding in the A/VCodec settings if using it.

Give this a try and as IPopov50 said the developers may also respond to this thread.

Done - and - failed again. If I change 2 pass to 1 pass - it works.

Kind of a bummer - I went ATI on this round for gaming. I had been using CUDA/NVidia for a while now and didn't figure there would be a problem using the ATI graphics card in a similar way to CUDA. Problem is, seems to take a lot longer to encode the same video...

Absolutely - honestly - really stoked about that. That service is why I bought the lifetime all products license. I meant - a bummer that there is not hardware encoding yet for ATI video cards.

Thanks - and I will monitor this thread.

                          Hi Steiner
I am not sure if this may help, pulled from release notes from Fengtao
                          Blu-ray Copy:
New: Added support for ATI Stream acceleration technology.
Note: Please update AMD Radeon video card drivers first.
                          1. Visit http://sites.amd.com/US/GAME/DOWNLOA...downloads.aspx
                          2. Download both "Catalyst Software Suite" and "AMD Media Codec Package" (Optional Downloads).
Currently the ATI Stream support is limited to video decoding only. It's the problem of AMD driver, and we need to wait for driver updates to support H.264 video encoding. Also the decoding speed of ATI Stream is not very faster than DXVA, but it should be more stable than DXVA.
                          Hope this helps

Yeah - Funny thing. This is a new build and the first thing I did was install the updated ATI drivers. I also installed the media codec package.

when I try to select it - it says something about not finding supported hardware / or a driver issue or something. Can't check right now as I am still doing the previous encode.

Why did you installed Codec pack?????!!!!! What do you need it for????!!!!
Do you know that codec packs mostly creating conflicts in your machine and harm your machine? Unless some exotic soft, I don't know program you would use that have need in outside codec....
In short, uninstall third party codec pack immediately and clean your machine (especially registry) well, with CCleaner or something like that!!!
