Im just wondering, out of plain interest, why it says the main movie on "action-type" movies is always 27-30gb, but yet most "comedy" movies are like 14-18 gb?


Both Transformers, Iron Mans, GI Joe were all in the 28-31gb range (main movie), yet the Hangover, Date Night, Stepbrothers are all in the 14-20gb range?

It has nothing to do with time either, most of them are like 2 hours long.

Not all Blu-rays are encoded the same way; they can be AVCHD, VC-1, even MPEG-2 (same as DVD) all of which can impact the size. All things being equal, it takes more bits to accurately encode a fast action scene than one that is more sedate, but I would not think it would make that much difference.
