FAB 8.1.0.5 and Onward Keeps Crashing

I keep having FAB crash problems and have just tried the latest released version; 8.1.1.2. Below are the pertinent log file entries and hopefully someone can help pinpoint the issue.

I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling the program various times. Deleted/updated graphics drivers, and have tried with different disks that have worked in the past.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Options for you to try:

1. Open Common Settings->General->A/V Codec, set both video decoder and encoder as software(or simply check the box of "Disable all GPU codecs for decoding and encoding"), then convert/copy;

2. Close your Anti-virus software, if any, to try again;

3. On Windows 7, go to Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization\Display, choose "Smaller-100%(default)" there.

Thanks for the suggestions....

1. Checked "Disable all GPU codecs for decoding and encoding", but no change - still crashes.
2. Disabled anti-virus (MS Security Essentials), but no change - still crashes.
3. Smaller - 100% is already the default - so still crashes.

The behavior is alway the same, FAB loads just fine, reads the disk to be backed up, and then just when it selects the appropriate track - it crashes.

Not sure why I don't have no problems with the previous versions. Something must have changed w/in FAB after 8.0.1.3. While looking around the settings last night I saw something about "hybrid disks?". I noticed that I have nothing selected in the drop down box for that setting, but I don't have a hybrid player nor hybrid disks. Was wondering if this needs to be set to something.

You need to do a clean uninstall of DVDFab 8 QT because sometimes programs can get files that become corrupt. You can uninstall DVDFab with the uninstall program. Open My Computer and go to c:\Program Files (OR) wherever you installed DVDFab, delete the "DVDFab" folder. Open "c:\WINDOWS \ PREFETCH" clean all the relevant ".pf " files with DVDFab. Then restart computer and check if there are some related files left, if does, please delete them.

I also suggest installing CCleaner found here and run the registry cleaner to also check for left over registry entries.

When installing Fab again instead of clicking run click save then open the folder and right click and install the program as administrator, restart computer.
After install right click the DVD Fab icon and click run as administrator.

I never ran it "as Administrator" before, although I have administrator rights on my computer.

Glad you have something working for you now.
I am not sure where the problem may lie, I install all my programs as Administrator, but I have UAC turned Off on my machine running Vista because of the annoying pop ups.

When I turn on my computer I have to enter a password for windows to start, I also have my user name in the settings to have Full Control of all programs in the settings, even though I am the Administrator and rarely ever have a problem with any program running.
