Yup, agree with the old saying,
a picture is worth a 1000 words.

Just click on Additional Options ---> Manage Attachments
when you reply....or
just click on the paper clip icon

Did you read over the FAQ section?

How do I add an image to a post?

If you have uploaded an image as an attachment, you can click the arrow next to the 'Attachment Icon' and select it from the list. This will be inserted into your post and can be located where you want it displayed.

To include an image that is not uploaded as an attachment and is located on another website, you can do so by copying the full URL to the image, (not the page on which the image is located), and either pressing the 'Insert Image' icon or by typing after it, ensuring that you do not have any spaces before or after the URL of the image. You can insert pictures from your albums (?) in this way too.

I forget the max size for an image, but it's not much.
Frequently, you'll have to resize.

Hope this helps.

thanks for replying but i'm trying to insert screen shots of dvdfab various screens which have arrows put onto them or words that have been circled to better describe what i'm saying

do i need to do this with another program say PAINT or a proper photo program and then upload the picture into the message by pressing the paperclip and inserting

p.s. is it shift and printscreen to capture the screen shot as it has been a few years and have lost my memory (getting old)

It can be shift+printscreen or Fn+printscreen, or some other combination. Paint works fine for this. Save the images as PNGs or JPGs.

Sorry, I'm having trouble finding my dementia meds and then I'm not sure if I've taken them...

I usually copy & paste the image into MS Paint (Ctrl + PrtSc)
I modify (crop, resize, add text, etc.,) the image with Adobe Photoshop 7.0, but any number of software apps will work.
Then I upload, put my cursor on a desired, specific location in my post and click on the paperclip to insert the image there.
