    Run as Administrator

I've been having issues with the latest betas. I just can not get them to run without using the run as admin option using windows 7 pro. This has never been an issue prior to the latest string of beta releases. I get an error saying that it can not find the path for each module as they load. I uninstalled/reinstalled/rebooted and cleaned the registry none of which helped. Has anyone else come across this?

    Hallo RClark,

Did you install DVDFab as Administrator?
Click right mouse button on the install file, and click on "Install as administrator".

    You should do this always.

Yes I installed as administrator. I just downloaded the latest release 8.1.5.8 Qt and I'm still having the same issue. When starting the program says "requires elevation". Looking through the boards ther are post wjere this has been an issue in the past.

Is this something that is available with latest build?

I think those were the old win XP problem.

Please try disabling User Account Control on your machine. If that does not help, try disconnecting from the internet and turn off or completely disable your antivirus/security software before installing. Something is interfering and corrupting your install or denying DVDFab the rights it needs on your machine.

I am having a similar issue with 8.1.58, running on Windows 7. When I try to run the product, or apply the new registration key, I get the following message:

Windows cannot find 'C:\PROGRA~2\DVDFAB~1\Options\DVDFabDVD2DVD.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again.

I get this message several times for the following programs:
          DVDFabDVD2DVD.exe X 3
          DVDFabDVD2Mobile.exe X 1
          DVDFabBluray2Bluray.exe X 1
          DVDFabBluray2Mobile.exe X 1
          DVDFabFile2Mobile.exe X 1
          DVDFabBluray2DVD.exe X 1
          DVDFabFile2DVD.exe X 1
          DVDFabFile2Bluray.exe X 1
          DVDFabFileMover.exe X 1
          DVDBluray2Mobile3D.exe X 1
          DVDFab2Dto3D.exe X 1
          DVDFabAddonBluray.exe X 1
          DVDFabAddonDVD.exe X 1

I installed the updates as an administrator and even tried starting the program as an adminstrator.

The last version I was running, without errors is 8.1.32. When I uninstall 8.1.58 and reinstall 8.1.32 I run without errors.

I should ahve done a search before posting, but I didn't. I found the solution in another thread (), but I do not like the proposed solution of having to run the application as an Administrator ANS having to "allow" it to run every time I use it. That needs to be fixed.

I have win 7 and have no problem with this version. See my suggestions in my earlier post in this thread.

I'm seeing this but again only with the recent version. If I install 8.1.5.1 or anything earlier there are no problems. I'm using the "Run as administrator" work around but something has changed in Fab since the last release that is causing this.

Perhaps someone can enlighten me as to why Fab requires elevation in order to run properly (if anyone knowns)? Using "Run as Administrator" and disabling UAC while an effective work around it is not a solution. With the chinese new year it's going to be some time before anyone takes a look at this I guess.

A real basic answer is that Windoze UAC is CRAP!!!

Agreed, mine has always been turned off and will remain that way.

I am also having problems but with different errors and like you the only one that works is 8.1.32 and earlier, which I have had to go back to. Version 8.1.56, 8.1.58 and 8.1.59 just will not copy any Blu-rays in any mode. Someting has obviously borked the program since 8.1.32.
