Hi Michael3999
Delete "DVDFab 8" or "DVDFab 8 Qt" folder in C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\, and restart dvdfab.

Even if it's a little thing, do something for those who have need of help, something for which you get no pay but the privilege of doing it.
You need to describe what happens in a little more detail. Does it install normally? Are you changing the default install location? Does it create the desktop icon? If you double-click the icon, open task manager and see if DVDFab is shown as a running aplication. Click on the Processes tab and see if you can locate dvdfab.exe or one of its modules, like fabcore.

It installed normally. I am not changing anything. The last page I see on the install screen is "Launch DVDFab" and "What's New", both of which are checked. I hit OK. The "What's New" page appears. DVDFab doesn't.
I double clicked the icon. Nothing happens. DVDFab is not shown as a running application.
Update:
I did, however, finally get 8.1.6.0 to open by right clicking and using "Troubleshoot Compatability". That is the only way I'm able to open it, though. Once I go back to simply double clicking to try and open it...nothing. When I do get the program to run using "Troubleshoot Compatability", the settings don't save and the issue I get says "Incompatible Application Detected", saying DVDFab is incompatible.
How do I do that? I've seen people post logs, but I have no idea where to start.
Hi Michael3999
The default location is:
For Win7C:\Users\User Name\My Documents\DVDFab\Log or Vista C:\Users\User Name\Documents\DVDFab\Log or forXPC:\Documents and Settings\User Name\My Documents\DVDFab\Log Please use attachment button and attach your most recent, Internal logand post right here.

Still only able to open by going through using "Troubleshoot Compatability". A "User Control Warning" popped up saying "Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer?" and the opened after I clicked yes. never had to go through that before....
Could a firewall be to blame?
Have no idea why older versions opened just fine, but these last 2 versions refuse to open with a simple double click.
Anyway, here's the newest I got tonight after trying a few re-installations:

That popup sounds like your pc is set up a bit like mine Michael with the user account control settings in control panel /system security/action center [ for windows 7 if thats what you run ?].
Theres a useful guide linked to this ;change fab to an administrator setting as your security is probably close to the max ;theres a sliding scale to optimise windows 7
Always notify
You'll be notified before programs make changes to your computer or to Windows settings that require administrator permissions.
