    Solved

well dvdfab 8 does install on win8 pro, you have to refresh your pc(atleast that is what I did) to install some missing files(apparently) from windows.
After I did a refresh the program installed like it should and is working good.

no raid on the ssd's, single drives only (1 for o/s and 1 for misc.)

A DVDFab uninstaller utility would be nice.

I just installed V8 and V9 on my Windows 8 laptop, 32 bit clean install on new ssd. Both installed seamlessly and run. So I'm no help

Unless you are running Bitdefender, big problem for DVDFab.

I don't have SSD's. I have 2 SATA discs but not setup in a RAID. I still have this problem.

I'm curious if waiting (for a long time) for the installer to finish has helped anyone else with this issue (see my comments in post #10 )?

Also, are those with this issue using a clean install of Windows 8 like I am (i.e. not an update over top of a previous version of Windows)?

Also have tried diff. versions but same thing.

dvdfab 9 installed with no problems, so look like its on to dvdfab 9 then....

I have, I also tried changing the compatibiltiy to Run as another OS.

I will say that I'm using 2 SSD setup as Raid 0 under Win 8. When I ran a single drive on Win 8, it did install fine.

I'm wondering if it has to do with the installer engine/app they used. The reason is, that I installed the latest beta version of VideoRedo TV H264, and once that got to "finishing installation" it sat there, with the hard drive light constantly staying on & it froze up about 5 minutes or so later.

I've noticed that installer for both Dvdfab & VideoRedo both look the same, so I'm thinking it's not so much the program itself but an issue with the installer. The problem is that I don't know which Company made the installer app that both are using.

I am having the same problem when trying to install DvdFab 8 on a fresh install of Windows 8, with Raid 0 setup (2 - 256 GB SSD).

Version 9 installed fine, but version 8 locked up at the end (I think it said "finishing installing"), right before it says to reboot.

I will say that when I ran Win 8 on a single SSD, then I had no issues with the install of Version 8
