I went to the User CP tab to edit my profile but it came back that I don't have sufficient privilage to do so. Question is - Why?. What do I need to do. I have been a long long time user.

It is not based on how long you have used the product or had a license, the forum has no way to know that. It is based on several factors that are designed to make it very inconvenient for spammers to abuse the forum and its users. You will notice that we have very little spam here, I think 2 or 3 posts in the past 2 years that the restrictions have been in effect. They are lifted by an automated process.
