cant run any version but dvdfab 8

DVD fab used to work great but just installed 9 and now neither dvdfab 8 QT or the new dvdfab 9 run at all. Using windows 7 ult. SP 1 all up to date.

When I click I get no error however in task manager it seems to be showing under processes but not applications.

It just will not run
if I run old version 8 it states I have to upgrade to run with bluray copy.
Cant get other versions to run though

Disabled AVG protection and still the same
it also will not run in compatible mode.

uninstalled and re-installed same issue

t2dex, this idea is kind of a pain in the butt, but worth a try. Uninstall all of them using the control panel uninstaller, open C:\windows\prefetch and delete all files that begin with dvdfab, then run ccleaner on the registry until it finds no registry errors. most times this takes me three times. Reboot and reinstall. Ccleaner is a free download and a really handy tool. I'm thinking your registry has become fouled and calling the wrong apps. We'll see I guess. I have two versions of 8 and 9 installed and all work well.

same issue, its in task manager but application not running
does not even install correctly, hangs, I have to goto restart then if I cancel it finishes the install
but will not run at all

Are you running the installer or saving it then installing it?
If running it please save the installer, browse to your download folder right click the install select run as administrator.

Yeah I am saving it, then installing it.
When it installs it seems to hang however if I goto sign out it jumpt back into life and I can proceed with the install.

Then when I go to start it, Nothing hapens at all, I can see it in tasks though when I go to task manager.

It used to work fine for me.

This may have been sugggested, but right click on the installer and select Run As Administrator, also uncheck the boxes that say "Launch DVDFab" and "What's New" on the last page of the installer. DVDFab will not install correctly without read/write access to your registry, sounds like something is interfering with that.

I run as administrator, click ok at English, NEXT - accept agreement - NEXT - install to c:\DVD9 - NEXT -create shortcut - NEXT - Extracting files - Finishing Installation - Green bar full Sticks Here.
Have to click sign off then cancel and its finished. then have

Dex, have you checked your "Data Execution Prevention" list? I just turn it off except for Windows stuff.

Hi,

Have you tried using system restore to a point before you encountered these problems. Something installed must have corrupted files or folder for you to be having this problem.
