Dvd failed to open

All of a sudden I get failed to open any DVD (please check if it's playable). which the drive plays DVDs just fine. Attempted to open DVDFAB as administrator, same problem. Log off windows 7 and relog under administrator and it works. Anyone have ideas as to what has been changed? log below for most recent attempt

Attempted your suggestion, same thing, failed to open. What's bothering me here, I log off on the normal windows 7 account and allow log on for administrator, and DVDFAB seems to work just fine. So leads me to think one of 2 possibilities. A setting was changed in the hardware only under my normal user account, or something is corrupted under the same. Would really hope not to have to try and reinstall windows just for this.

I don't think that should be necessary. Try running DVDFab As Administrator.

Your version of Argo is slightly different from mine, which opens correctly. Are you saying that NO DVD opens correctly??

Tried about 15 different Dvds from my collection, all do the same, it's annoying having to log out and into administrator just to do this. I multitask a lot, so having to setup the admin account to do what I want will be time consuming, I was just hoping someone out there had some idea about what I need to look for to fix it.

Right click on the desk top icon and select run as administrator and see if that will work for you. Save logging off and on.

Have a look at what Windoze Updates have been performed lately and maybe roll them back or if you have system restore turned on, restore to an earlier date.

As stated in the first post, already tried running dvdfab as admin from the desktop, no luck. Also tried a few restores, tried uninstalling/reinstall Dvdfab, all with no effect. Get the feeling that unless I get lucky and someone out there has some windows hardware/software controls experience, my only option will be a reinstall of windows (yuck)

Have you tried making your normal account an Administrator?

It has about as much administrative access that is allowed, due to the uac restrictions only the actual admin account works that way. Perhaps I can figure out how to port my settings to the admin account and work from there instead

Realized something new, windows 7 allows both admin and other users accounts to run at the same time, so for the time being, I can use dvdfab running in the admin account and it will run even when I am in the other account! Not what I want but have to make due...
