    Can't do anything

I just bought v9.0.4.2, last night. So far I'm having no luck at all. I've used Fab 8 with no problems. Just upgraded from XP to win 7, so I bought the newest version of Fab I could, from the dvd fab site. Program takes a long time to start. It freezes whenever I try to do just about anything. It finally read a disk for me, after many re-starts. When I put media in the burner, it starts detecting, than freezes. Can't cancel, can't close out the program- NOT RESPONDING. Granted I'm new to win 7, and fab 9 is quite different from 8, on the other hand it's not rocket science, the program should not freeze. Since I installed win 7 I have successfully used the burner using convertx. No Problems there. Also I keep checking the start up boxes "not to show this again" but It keeps coming back every time I start fab 9. Drivers up to date as far as I know. Firmware on burner is up to date. I'm ready to have the fab company downgrade me to fab 8 which was installed on m,y X.P. o.s. Sure would appreciate some help or ideas with this, so far I can't use it. I bought it for lifetime, thats a long time not to be able to use it.

All you have to do is go to the members site and download your version 8 key and install it, you can have both on your computer at the same time.

Have you installed all the drivers for your motherboard after the upgrade of the OS?

I just installed Fab 8 also. It doesn't work right either. Seems to get stuck reading blank disk in drive G, just stops, takes forever to exit. The only problems I'm having is with DVD Fab.

It seems like you have an older computer, are you sure your motherboard Bios is Windows 7 compatible?

You might have better luck sticking with XP and saving the 7 for when you build/buy a newer computer.

I assume Marty because if you have purchased V8 you are entitled to V9 at no extra cost. What I don't know for sure is if you haven't purchased V8 before purchasing V9 is the V8 key generated on the member's site?

I legally purchased v9, didn't work right. Next I downloaded v8, entered my log in info from 9. Now 8 says I'm good for life, great cause it don't work either. I'm sure it's some setting issue that I'm just not seeing, as I'm not all that familiar w/win7. As I stated before, all divers and firmware have been up-dated. I ran a compatibility program before installing win 7, even checked specs over with an expert. The only problem I'm having is with DVD FAB PRODUCTS. My players play, my burner, burns, my converter converts. It's just the cloner won't clone. I came to this forum for some suggestions on what I may be doing wrong not criticism about my computer. Going back to xp is not an option. No. one it'll be gone come next April, ms is dumping all support. No. 2 I dumped xp to install win 7, thats the only way to do it. I will be able to get with the help desk Mon. morning, if the issues can't be resolved I will demand a re-fund and go to another program. SIMPLE

There is no criticism here, just people trying to help you.

I'm sorry you feel that way. I put it down to frustration with the situation on your part.

The help desk was able to solve the problem. Had nothing to do with me, or my computer. There was a glitch in the program itself.

In an effort to help others, what was the glitch and how did you fix it?
