DVDFab: Bit of an issue regarding licencing

    Hello,

I was looking around for something to copy my legally purchased dvd Star Trek 'XI'. I was recommended a couple of times to dvdfab.

I duely paid the licence fee for lifetime, for 'dvd to dvd' version. I have just read that I should have included 'dvd to mobile' at purchase time as the newer licence keys incorporate this within the v6 key. Is this correct? I'm sure I read it on this site or the site you click when you click 'buy now'. If it is included, can you email me a key to reflect this, or if it isnt can you let me know.

There is no stress here, either it is, or it isnt. I doubt I'll be needing the option anytime soon.

I have just completed the purchase of the bluray to bluray option, just awaiting my licence keyfile now

    Regards,

    Louis

DVD to Mobile used to be included with the DVD to DVD option about 2 years ago but the policy has changed since and now it must be purchased seperately
(don't feel bad I missed the boat also).

The purchasing options can be a little confusing depending on when you purchased. They are explained here:

There is a link at the bottom of the linked page that will generate a new v6 key if you need it and send it via email.

The purchasing and licensing is definitely confusing. I have purchased everything over the last few months all separately. The last was Blu Ray to Blu Ray. I personally wish I could have purchased the entire suite at a discounted price other than the 20% off each individual component. It does not make sense that their is not a suite all-in-one attractive price. Now I am left with a bunch of components that will expire at different times. Oh well, love the application and will gladly pay for it when I need to. I don't understand File to Mobile and File Mover being "trials" for only a few months. After spending a couple of hundred USD on DVD and Blu Ray, you would think I should own everything at this point.

If you are just trying to copy the disc than you do not need DVD to Mobile.

The "new" license key feature you read about is just a convenience feature to deliver all purchased keys within the same file so you don't have to load them one-by-one.

.. thank you all for the feedback.

DVDFab 6.2 did indeed make a copy that I could play in my dvd player (The original has all this copy protection crap on it, that my dvd player, being of an older variety, has problems even starting the disc!), But no more.

Whilst I'm considering going blu-ray, sometime in the future, it was good to get the software licence for that component.

As for what I read, I must have misread or misunderstood what I read. My apologies for that.

As an aside, Boston Joe, maybe we can pertition the creators of this fine product to try and get them a suite for the 'lot' pricing?

That would be great! Even if it is just a couple of bucks less than purchasing everything separately, at least all components will be on the same time table. As an aside, looks like I am going to need to buy File Mover and File to Mobile. I don't really ever load anything on my ipod, but I like being able to compress large files using DVDFab to output to just about any format.
