Other Hardware Fab and Magic jack

Can Fab be made to work with magic jack again as it once did as it's a real pain not to be able to use my phone when Fab is running.After running Fab I have to unplug the usb jack and replug it in for magic jack for it to work again after i use Fab each time to rerun its software?

I have it unchecked in drive settings where it shows up but it still won't work with Fab.I know it's a know problem can it be fixed as it worked at one time.

I don't think there is anyting Fab can do. The magicjack uses disc I/O to talk to your system, which is basically a quick and dirty shortcut for them. I got one of the newer models of the MJ that does not use a PC.

I also have upgraded to a non computer version however that version gives poor results when plunged into the wall and doesn't email you when you have a message waiting for you.

I know you can program it to alert you by dial tone but if you don't pick up the phone you won't know there's a recorded message.

Also it did work before so Fab was able to be used with it in the past as I had the regular version for about 8 years now.If it worked before for years why not now?

The last time I tried my old one it did not work correctly when Fab was started or running. The new ones seem to work OK, I do not use it very much because my new cellphone contract has unlimited talk (but BIG bills for data!).

But your not using your new one on the computer right? I am just because it won't work correct theirs no way to turn the volume up or the mike up with out using it with the computer so people can't hear me they say the audio they receive is to low when not plugged into the computer.

If it's plunged into the computer the volume for the mike and audio can be adjusted and emails are sent when you have a message waiting but Fab won't allow it to work while Fab is on screen even not running.Then I got to unplug it from usb and replug it back in every time I use Fab and with all the testing I do for others that's a whole lot of Fab use.Fab did work with it before why not now? why can't it be made to work again? My old model worked with Fab for at least 4 years maybe longer.

By the way after getting a new one the old one shouldn't work at all as with mine i had it transferred over to the new one so I didn't loose out any time remaining on my 5 year contract and kept the same phone number.

Correct, PC not involved any longer. No complaints about the audio levels, but again, I don't use it that often--just as backup for when the regular line goes down or if I want to make a call that does not leave my regular number on a company's caller ID to be harvested. Got a new number for mine since I was about to expire on the old one anyway.

Based on logs, v9 seems to enumerate drives even if you have them disabled in Settings, not sure if it is actually touching them or just getting the drive list from the OS. If MJ would write a real USB driver for their stuff (instead of using disc I/O) it would not happen. Sorry you are having the problem. I will ask about the drives thing in v9 when they get back from the New Year holiday.

Signals:Have you received a response from developers can Magic jack be used with Fab as It once did?

All you had to do back then was uncheck the magic jack drive from the drives list in Fab settings it worked then why not now?

This is the biggest pita ever.Everytime I use Fab my phone don't work even if it's just open not doing anything theirs got to be a fix for this this like I said it was working before if you use the Fab search engine you yourself gave directions to get it to work by unchecking the drive in the settings box.I just don't understand why it was made to work before and not now.

I would love to here we will study and implement this into Fab from you it has a nice ring to it.
