I think it is like signals says, always there. My PS3 will pick it up and mute an mp4 file played from the USB port while my set top player won't see it in an mkv played from the USB port but will if the mkv is burned to a disk. So I think it is always there just the USB port isn't listening for it.

I get around it a couple ways, one is my media player, rip to an iso and play it on the AIOS it doesn't know Cinavia. Two is make an MKV file and put it on a USB drive or thumb drive and play it on my BR player. If you try to burn the MKV file to a disc Cinavia will get you but played from USB it's fine. I recommend a media player, storage is cheap and it plays almost all file types you can have a big library on external HHDs.

Does anyone know whether the new pivos product "XIOS DS Streaming Media Player" would be able to play the iso?

Well, perhaps it has to do with how much storage we have. I have 27TB of storage on my server, and many of the other PCs here have 4TB. I have a huge physical disk collection.

These days I buy my movies predominately on blu-ay.

When I rip them, the sizes are almost the same as the original disk (I'm not a fan of compression - I just leave out redundant audio and subtitles). I can't fit them all on the server, Especially TV shows - I just bought the Mentalist collection - That's a huge investment in disk space...

I just lost a 3TB disk drive too a couple of days ago. Took ages to re-rip the stuff.. so I say to hell with it and left them on the original disks. Just Backed 'em up to DVD so the kids could watch them on their PCs.
