    buffer crashing?

I've been having an issue on my Desktop with buffer crashing? Any idea on what it is, and what causes it?

Don't understand the new warning pop-up in newest version of Fab either.

What popup and what does it say? The log says the disc you were trying to compress failed to open.

Can't remember exactly what it said. Something about cells being skipped or deleted? Next time I burn, I'll export the information that popped up.

Is that something new, btw? I never saw it happen before

      Thanks Signals

Hi jrogers, you are welcome. Look in the ImgBurn log, there may be something in there. I am not sure about the popup, it may not be from Fab. Was it a little square, white box with just an error code inside it?

Just noticed you posted the Img log.

The problem seems to be with ImgBurn. From the log:
W 10:57:09 Waiting for buffers to recover... (LBA: 54080)
W 10:57:32 Waiting for hard disk activity to reach threshold level...

Something is causing ImgBurn not to be able to get data from the HDD fast enough. Could be a lot of things causing it but most often another program accessing the drive concurrently with ImgBurn, this interferes with the sequential file access ImgBurn uses. A background virus scan is a typical culprit.
How to post the internal log

I agree with 90312 and would suggest that you increase the size of the ImgBurn buffer from 40MB to say 500MB to decrease the likelihood of this happening in the future. Virus scans, updates or drive utilities that run on a time schedule should be disabled if you do much work with DVDs.

glenns already suggested increasing mbi to 200. My laptop said 80 but the desktop said 40! I've already killed the screensaver, and I'll shut down autoscans of Norton next time I burn.

              Thanks for the help!
