    Read ahead cache

    HI:
    Can you tell me what the read ahead cache doe's in Fab settings seems to read a disk faster if unchecked in Fab settings.Why is the default setting checked for this setting if it reads slower thanks.

    It should not read slower. It is faster on my PC. What is you OS version and what type of optical drive do you have (IDE, SATA, etc.)?

      Tried a second disk this time got same speed checked or unchecked with the 9165 version ide ata ultra dma mode 6 windows 7.

      Is having read ahead faster on some machines and not others?
      Using I-7 3770 blu ray 25gig disk main movie to folder on hard drive.
      Movie tested mission impossible ghost protocol 10 mins. 29 seconds total time for both tests.Disk was made with Fab and reduced in size to 25 gigs burnt to blu ray and used for testing.
