Understood. Currently using Window 7 professional and have disabled the Anydvd. I'll see if it's working properly after tomorrow mail arrives and keep you posted.
Thanks again for the insight.
So I tried the new Wookao and the software worked perfect however I am still unable to see subtitles. I tried the Xmen again last night and was only able to see subtitles when "normal and Forced" were selected. I'd like to have only "forced" but for some reason it won't come out. I tried with Dances with wolves and the same no subtitle result.
I verified the settings per member 90312 and they are correct which is the factory setting or default. I'm beginning to think it might be a problem with my Blu Ray player since the videos are on my computer and pushed through my Blu ray to the TV? Seems unlikely?
as 90312 says, it may be related to player issues .... I have found that Bluray mkv's in general seem to vary more in regard to subtitle issues .. eg, properly detecting default/forced/etc tracks ... However, I have found that the VLC software player seems to work in most cases where maybe a given hardware player may not properly detect .... ( eg, with one of my WD Live players, a BR mkv subtitle would not display at all, but when I simply ran the file thru a pgm like MKVmerge without any changes in subtitle flagging, the WD player then played it fine, so go figure ! )
.. so try VLC if you haven't, just to see if it plays mkv properly with subs ..if it does, then it's most likely something with your player ... jak
Well, I am currently using VLC with mkv running from my computer to Blu Ray and then to the TV. Upon ripping Wmen first class I see no forced subtitles on the TV or computer but when I do "normal and forced" I can see subtitles on the computer but not on the TV.
Is there another free software like VLC? It's worked great for years but may be having ossues and I'd like to test another software. If the new software doesn't work it will either be in the Blu Ray (LG) or DVDFAB software. By the way I have reset my Dvdfab back to default settings.
I've tested the VLC but "forced sub" don't play thru VLC on the computer or thru the blu ray to the TV and "normal and forced" play on the computer but not on the TV. What other software would you recommend? Looks like I'll need to test another before buying a new Blu Ray which is what I suspect it is.
I already have a Blu-ray/mkv file on my computer of Captain America: Winter Soldier Blu-ray disc. Using DVD Fab DVD Creator 9.1.4.5, I created disc. Problem: English subs of 4 or 5 French lines in the movie play with VLC on my pc, but do not play when using my Toshiba Blu-ray player. Note that I have had this same problem on a number of similar discs where the subs play in VLC, but will not play in the Blu-ray player. Any help appreciated. Please note that I only a moderately "savvy" user, so perhaps already answered in forum, but I just did not "understand" the answer. I truly spent about 2 hours searching through the Forum to try and find the answer.
You need to update to the current version of DVDFab and start over with the original disc. It is unclear if you are trying to make a DVD or a Blu-ray or where this "Blu-ray/MKV" source file came from or how it was made. Please post in the forum that corresponds to the module that you are using in the future.
