Signature does not show

I had planned on using my "signature" to list my PC specs + DVDFab apps I have.
BUT signature does not show in spite of "show signature"
- am I doing something wrong -OR- missing something?

I seem to see it in your post in red text. If you tried earlier, you may have been in the New Member user group, which is not permitted to use the signature feature.

I can understand the ban on signatures.
- On some forums there seems to be a signatures competition
... loudest, ugliest, biggest ... etc. Personally I don't get it, just more clutter in posts.
- and then there are the trolls

I can live without the signature area.
- my clipboard extender (ClipX) is getting over burdened with text strings

Q1: Is there a point at which signatures are allowed ?
