Other DVDFab 8230Qt on windows 81

Does this version of DVDFab work OK on Windows 8.1? I have the new version installed and working fine. But there are things I like about the old version too.

If the website is down, or if my connection is down, can I use version 9? I know it has to connect to the internet to verify the license. I don't think version needs to though.

Or am I mistaken?

You can still use v9 without a connection briefly, but you can't decrypt a Blu-ray without the connection with either one.
