One this exact same pc was dvdfab was running on Vista Utlimate and it worked flawlessly. I decided to upgrade to Wndows 7 sofirst I ran the Windows 7 compatility tool on the Vista OS, backed my data and performed a clean install of Windows 7 Enterprise. I first upgraded and purchase to the newest version of all of my software just to ensure that i had all Winodws 7 compatible software and HARDWARE.
Installed the newest version of DVEDFAB and have had these reading issues ever since.
Should I downgrade to VISTA ULTIMATE -64bit ?

I can't say that win7 x64 is the culprit since it is working for me and others. Do you have your system OC'd? That can cause instability that Fab would bring to light since it maxes out your system. It may also be some of your new software not playing so well with Fab.
@maineman
There is lots of info on google about the reg edit. but like you said everything works so.....

The "mpeg2" is simply the format used to encode the source video.
I think it started to show up last Sept-Oct. in the main movie and customize modes.
It's just additonal info, nothing more.
I'm not sure about what's up with your system.
As Johan said, it's tough to point to the "culprit".
There is no incompatibility issue between Win7 and Fab, per se.
There are many users that are running Win7 and Fab without conflict.
It sounds like you have a very limited bios.
If you post additional info about your system, we can take a look and try to sort this out.
There are a lot of experienced folks on this forum who are happy to help.
A decent little utility for some basic info is:
from Piriform. They're good folks, same co. that brought us CCleaner, Recuva, etc.
It's still in beta, but works just fine.
@ BIG
Should I assume that since you reinstalled DVDFab it is working since you managed to rip Charlie Brown ?
Kudos to maineman ccleaner is an awsome utility from pirifrom. I use it all the time and has never done me wrong.

@ drobo
I just checked GPU acceleration in DVDFab and mine is lit up, checked with the following info
Graphics Chipset :
NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT
Supported Video Codecs :
CUDA_MODE_H264
CUDA_MODE_VC1
DXVA_MODE_H264
so I don't think it is a Win 7 x64 problem either.
@maineman
Just tried Speccy it's kinda cool alot of info there

NO NO NO
Did not rip Charlie Brown, the software made attempts to no avail. Basically gave an error to abort, retry or to skip. An attempt to retry or skip will produce no video and the same error message will reappear.

PLEASE Assist!! ...
Let's go back to basics... I noticed from your log files that you tried to rip Ocean Eleven and Charlie Brown repeatedly. What is PathPlayer set at currently in DVDFab? You might try ripping with PathPlayer disabled since these are older titles. Give this a try...
Let me try and Ill get back with you on that, but that was an excellent question as I assumed that it would play a movie as it had before, but DVDFAB worked b4 as well.
OK, this is what i discovered.
The movie is recognized in My computer and on the dvd drive it shows the movies name and If I open DVDFAB, allow it to try and run its scan and open the movie, it just gives up and then I attempt to close DVDFAB, it takes quite a while(10min to close) and it may go away but it still is seen in task manager under "services".
I then have to force a logout, but the movie still isnt recignized after i log back in so I have to actually restart the pc and DVDFAB then goes away in tasks manager so now I open windows media player and the movie plays just fine.
WUZUP wit that?
DVDFAB doesnt enjoy its current residence at my pc. (
WHAT GIVES?? MODERATORS???? ANYONE?? HELLLLPPPP!!!!!!!
BTW::: I am very thankful for everyones assistance.. Thanks to You ALL!!
