I agree with Johan. He raises some excellent points.
So I guess this "Monster" initially came with Vista installed? I remember I had asked about the original OS in this rig, but maybe I missed it.
I still don't get what's up with your bios. According to dell you should be able to configure your SATA II devices as IDE and not AHCI.
I'm curious as to how your system and Fab would get along.
Curious also that Fab and the ext burner aren't interested in a relationship. and if I recall correctly, Fab has never run on this rig since the Win7 insytall, correct?
As a shot in the dark, please do the following.
Device manager >
scroll down to VSO (at or near the bottom) >
click on the + to expand >
open patin-couffin driver and delete all instances of this...I suspect you have more than one.
Uninstall Fab
Run CCleaner and under Advanced be certain to tick Old Prefetch data
Try a fresh download and install of v. 6.2.2.0.
I hope that this succeeds, but I do not have high expectations.
As stated by Johan and I absolutely agree with his advice, I would think seriously about flashing your bios, any chipset updates and using a spare hdd...wipe it clean and start fresh with a new Win7 install.
