    Removing Region Codes for DVD

I have a region 2 DVD and i want to do a full copy to play in region 1.

    I am using version .9.1.4.5

In the options, DVD tab, I selected region 2 and it copies. For the test i have been compressing it to a DVD5 although the original was a DVD9, so about 58% compression.

The copy plays on my computer but will not play on my panasonic bluray player. That blu-ray player all non regional copies (DVD or BluRay) in the past. It simply says it can't play the disk.

I have had DVDfab for years but I it isn't something i use on a regular basis.

    thanks in advance.

please post dvdfabs complete internal log files as well the burn log files.
the disc may be region free but your region 2 dvd is PAL format. your
dvdplayer is NTSC. dvdfab cannot convert PAL to NTSC format.

DavidG, there is no need to post the logs, the problem is as october262 described it, and lies in the fact that PAL content from DVDs can't be played on most NTSC (US and others) players. You can find players that will do both on the internet, and the PAL Region 1 backups will play on most PCs.
