    Win 10 Upgrade Question

When upgrading to Windows 10 should I uninstall DVD Fab and reinstall after the upgrade?

    #2
I would try it without uninstalling. It is more likely to preserve your customized settings and product registration. Not a big deal but kind of a PITA to reset it all (but may turn out to be needed anyway).

I will be trying it soon myself, after a few more of you early adopters slug through it. Everyone would be interested in your results.

          Win 10

It took about 2 hours, but I now have 10 on my laptop. BIG difference! FAB starts up slow (It always did on the laptop) but I haven't tried a burn yet. All the settings are still the same.

          Hope this helps

Did you upgrade from 7, 8 or 8.1? Thanks for the report.

              8.1

It takes a bit to get used to, but I like it so far. I have a book on order from Amazon, but that won't come until end of August!

I'm able to confirm that I've had no trouble running DVDFab with all fifteen of the pre-release builds of Windows 10

Made the switch to Windows 10 yesterday and everything is both hunky and dory! DVDFab still sees it as Windows 8 in the logs but works great.

This is very promising and good news.

My Windows 8.1 rig is having some memory issues and I think it may have a virus or some tracking crap on it. Explorer is buggy and I'm running out of memory every 5-6 days....

I plan on restoring my last clean update from December of 2014. (Just windows and all current updates, no software) and then upgrade to 10 (so I can back it up before I do anything else.)

What files should I keep for DVDFab? The only customizations I really have are ASUS TABLET settings I made.

Thanks for any help, and if needed, please move this to the appropriate thread.

You can go here and get the tool to download an iso or make an install thumb drive and install 10 to a clean drive if you want. Just zero the drive and start fresh.

If you have to enter the product key each time you reinstall your existing OS you should probably do it your way. My product key is on the BIOS and it used it, some are not so a clean install may not be the best.

If you don't have MalwareBytes Anti-Malware already, I suggest that you get it. That may help with some of the issues. Maybe need some new memory modules?
