Burned DVD's freeze, skip, pixelate.

I am having a problem burning DVD's. Far too many of my burned discs freeze, skip and/or pixelate during playback. I use Maxell DVD+R, 4.7 GB, 16x discs. I use all precautions before burning, cleaning both the discs and laser lens. I am at a loss at this point, any help with solving this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Set the burn speed to 8X or slower. Get some Verbatim blanks and see if they are better. Use ImgBurn either from within DVDFab or standalone as the burning engine.
