Other How to embed cover in copy icon?

So far, I've had no serious problems copying my DVDs and BDs to ,iso files (I do this so I can capture the extra features, etc.). However, the icon for each ISO in Windows directory and in various media players just show the filename and an empty box when in icon view. How can I get the cover or picture that shows up in DVDFab when copying a movie to an ISO to appear in the icon?

    DVDFab 10
    Windows 7 64bit

Attachment 1 is what I'm getting now when I copy my DVDs/BDs to .iso. Attachment is an example of what I'm looking for.

I don't know how to get the "cover or picture" that DVDFab shows when copying .
I haven't paid attention to what this picture is .
I can tell you in the image you attached the .WTV files are associated with VLC media player.
The .ISO files are associated with some other media player.
This can be changed with a right click on the file & select "Properties".
      Then the "Change" button.
      Maybe a change to DVDFab.exe.
That will associate the file with the program you want it associated with.
It then depends on what that program uses for its' file association icon.

Thanks for responding! The .iso file association had already been changed to DVD Fab (and it didn't work). In fact, I'm not happy (mild, forum acceptable terminology) that DVD Fab automatically changed the file association for .iso files since my copied video ISO s are not the only .iso files I have (and those need to be mounted in my virtual ODD drive when clicked). I had to go and change the file association for .iso back to my virtual ODD in order for my other ISO files to open properly (mostly mountable program and driver installation CD and DVD backups).

            @ october262 ,
I actually doubt any software will do this.
This is a file association by Windows to assign a software programs icon.
            To do what the OP wants ;
When the .iso was created DVDFab would have to assign an icon that Windows would use for that specific .ISO.
This would be more or less a tag like an .mp3 file uses if tagged with an album cover.
Even that only shows in the media player when played.
So even if it could be done I believe this is an unlikely feature to be added.
It looks like VLC assigns a thumbnail for the .isos but this is probably the first image it would play.
            Not the movie cover.

I'm beginning to think you are correct on much of this. It does appear, with the exception of .wtv files, the icon supplied is dependent on the default program for that particular file extension and I'm simply out of luck for my ISO files, especially since ISOs can't be tagged).

Btw, the .wtv files in my example were created by Windows Media Center, which is also the default program of .wtv, not VLC. I do not create any video files using VLC.

Any DVDFab Copy product will create an ISO output. You just need to select that in the Target area.

I'm unable to open or otherwise view the link. It keeps taking me to an "HTTP 404 Not Found" error, "The webpage cannot be found".

I have the DVD Fab 10 All In One and the above tutorials are for earlier versions of the stand alone products and are nothing like what I have. While I was able to make an .iso from the Create section of what I have (which still didn't embed an illustration in the icon), I was unable to find the equivalent tutorials, let alone figure out how to select any background illustrations, etc.

The orange and white cone in the lower right of the thumbnails for .wtv is the VLC logo or icon.
I believe if you check the Properties of these files you will find that their open with is associated with VLC.
If you click or double click on one of these .wtv files VLC should be the program that opens it.
Give it a try and post if I'm incorrect. I would like to know.

With a right click on an .iso file & selecting "Change" .
In the window that pops up select "other programs" by the + sign.
VLC should be there . Select it. If it isn't there use "Browse" to find VideoLan/VLC in Program Files.
Usually the vlc.exe is the correct association.
See if the .iso files now have thumbnails like the .wtv files.

I will give this a test on my OS and see .
Usually I keep media files associated with Windows system file that does nothing.
That way they don't auto open a specific software. The icon looks like a blank page.
No problem to check and then change it back.

                        I did some testing .
When I associated an .iso file with VLC all I got was the orange & white VLC cone.

I also tested with a .wmv file .
When set to View/medium icon or larger the .wmv's have a thumbnail .
If I associate them with VLC . The orange & white cone is added to the thumbnail as in your photo.

The result of my tests are no thumbnail for an .iso like you wanted.

It doesn't matter what file association I use, I still don't get the picture in the file icon.

Frankly, I'm becoming very disenchanted with DVDFab and its lousy support, both here (the forum administration paranoia is pathetic, ranging from not allowing Yahoo email addresses to needing to approve posts before they appear) and from the company itself. I just dropped $149 on the Cinavia removal software and it didn't work.

Well, let me make this paranoid suggestion: this is a complex and powerful product, learn to use it. As to the forum, there are good reasons why we have these policies, which are used for New Members only to prevent spammers from spreading their filth. The DVDFab office is closed for a Chinese national holiday and will reopen in about a week. The Cinavia Removal software works fine, don't say things that are untrue or your forum tenure will be short indeed, yer ladyship.

I think I understand your issue with the icons. If you make a file for a device like an MP4, AVI or such a screenshot becomes the icon but not for a folder or iso image. It can be changed but it’s a PITA.
