I wonder if anyone else is seeing this issue on more and more new titles I cam seeing "read errors" that stop a rip dead in its tracks (this is on an ASUS machine). I first saw this on Baywatch. I picked up a copy from Amazon and hit a read error at 4%, if I ignore this and rip anyway it just produces garbage. Initially, I figured it was a bad disk and sent it back and got a new one, same deal, 4%. I contacted DVDFab support and got the same thing you find on forums, clean the disk, clean the lens etc, I did all these but again, this is on a brand new, unplayed disk. Same deal 4% stop. So I tried ripping on my wife's Alienware Laptop, same deal 4% it stops dead in its tracks.
I have seen this with other Blu-Ray titles I have bought brand new although at difference % with each, some work if you ignore the errors others just produce garbage. As I have tested this on 2 completely different machines and gotten the exact same results I cannot believe I am the only person seeing this. If anyone has any suggestions I am open to trying just about anything as this is super frustrating.
And just as a test I have gone back and tried to rip disks that I have ripped in the past without issue, to see if something has changed on my side and everything rips flawlessly as it always has. So I am at a loss. Any suggestion, guys?
