Recently, we've been receiving feedbacks from customers, reporting their DVDFabs are having problems connecting to the DVDFab Server, which results in DVDFab not being able to work as expected.
Our developers immediately looked into that matter. After thorough troubleshooting and analysis, we found that in those cases, customers' HOST files were somehow modified. This might be done by some third party software (do not download DVDFab from any illegal websites), without prior notice to customers; it could also be modified by customers themselves, in order to watch certain videos provided by certain hosting sites. Based on our investigation, the modified HOST file is exactly what is causing DVDFab having difficulties connecting to its server.
To rectify the situation whenever it happens again, please manually correct your HOST file, per the steps below:
1. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc;
2. Open the HOST file with Notepad, and then delete all the entries about DVDFab;
3. Save the modified HOST file and quit.
Note that due to system permissions, you might need to copy the HOST file to another location, and after being modified, copy it back to replace the existing one.
Please always bear in mind, our official website, www.dvdfab.cn, is the only secure place to order DVDFab products.
