Several members use Plextors and have mentioned them in posts, hopefully they will see yours. Not sure about the model.

      Plextor

This is the new Blu-ray writer that burns at 12X. Just wondering if anyone has experienced the robust writing speed. I just got mine and am anxious to try it out.

Isn't that just a rebadged Pioneer 205? Why not buy the original, it must be cheaper. Plextors in Sweden are very high priced.

I have never had an issue with Plextor in the 15 yrs I have used their products. I have used a lot of brands along the way to try "cheaper", but have had more issues doing that than just sticking with Plextor. Where is the proof that Pioneer is involved? I will take it up with them if I have some proof.

If it's the Pioneer 205 it is a very good drive. I really like my Pioneer and have had no problems.

I started out using Plextor over 10 years ago and have been impressed. Especially since I've only replaced 1 of them ever. The only issue that I have with them is the tray operation. As they age, the tray doesn't like to stay closed and you have to kind of coax it manually so that it engages. Other than that, no complaints. If it ain't broke don't fix it right??

A couple years ago Plextor fell on hard times and farmed out their optical disk drives. Check it out here.

Well 'proof is in the pudding' as they say, I have a Pioneer BDR-203 and no complaints so far

I have a Plextor PX-850SA (it's probably rebadged lite-on or something) but no complaints with it but the tray makes a slight 'jerk' then pauses just before opening. I'm guessing they change the rebadged drive's tray for the classic Plexy ones (glossy) and must be causing some problems. (just a guess)
