    Problem installing DVDFab 7

Installation goes fine until it gets to "finishing installation" with the full green progress bars showing. Then it just hangs at this point.

Version 6 installs with no problems. I have tried clean installations using registry cleaner. No help. This is on Windows XP Professional, Service Pak 3.

You may have tried this, but I have no way of knowing.
D/L Fab, save it, then open and run as administrator.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Turn your Anti-virus and firewall off and then try installing again

I assume there are only two "full green progress bars" - one from DVDFab installer and the other one from Patin-Couffin driver installation... right?

I would strongly recommend NOT to disable firewall. In case it is absolutely necessary for the test, then disconnecting from the internet is a good idea before disabling the firewall.

Well, I turned off my anti-virus and firewall and was immediately directed to a porn site, shortly thereafter my computer began to smoke, spark, and shutdown.

But seriously, DVDFab 7 installed and ran perfectly when I turned off F-Secure internet security 2010 (which includes a virus and firewall).

However, when I re-enabled F-Secure. DVDFab 7 will not start (DVDFab 6) runs without a problem with F-Secure enabled.

I get no warning or notice as to why DVDFab 7 is being blocked. The question is what are you doing differently in 7 vs 6? If I knew I could adjust F-Secure by opening a port or whatever.

            Thanks

Thanks for the laugh but did you try to allow the firewall in F-secure to allow DVDFab to run as I think that is what is not letting DVDFab work for you

                LOL...
Strange and I dunno what changed.
I'm not familiar with F-Secure, but as AGJ suggested, surely a retail packaged av/fw must allow for configuring to your needs.

Will Fab run if you simply disallow internet access?
Do you need to connect for BD+?

                  Problem with DVDFab 7.0.3.0 Install

I am trying to install DVDFab 7.0.3.0. I previously was running DVDFab 6.2.1.8 with no problems, I have since uninstalled this version. My OS is Windows XP Professional version 2002 Service Pack 3. I am using Iolo System Mechanic with their Anti-Virus and firewall; both were disabled durring install. I have downloaded the install file a few time thinking it might have been a corrupt download. I have tried the clean Uninstall with the CCleaner registry fix but this did not work either. Not sure what to try next. I get all the way through the install, but on the last screen when it is suppose to open DVDFab nothing happens. Please tell me if there are any other configuration settings or logs that might help describe this problem better.

I always do this for all my programs, instead of clicking run I click save then open the folder and right click and install the programs as administrator and never have had 1 problem with any install. In my own opinion I think it makes a world of difference on the install of programs.
Give it a try and post back.

Running the installer "As Administrator" is very important.

Hello CBR929 thanks for replying so fast. I did a uninstall, ran CCleaner, disabled antivirus and firewall, and ran the install as the administrator. I got further in that the "Welcome to DVDfab" screen but when I press "Start DVDFab" it does not start

Ok sorry I searched but missed this post, "DVDFab Not Opening". It sounds like I am not the only one with this problem.

If your up for another go try Revo Uninstaller you will find it here
Run Fab through the uninstaller and use the last option to clean everything, you can even run the registry cleaner in CCleaner to be sure, then try to reinstall Fab.

Ok well I tried it, after running Revo Uninstaller there were only like 3 entries in CCleaner. I re-downloaded the DVDFab install file and disabled real-time protection. I ran the install file as administrator. This time in the welcome screen my license was gone and it was back to a trial version. Same problem though when I press the "Start DVDFab" button nothing happens.
