It depends on the copy mode you have selected and the way the DVD was authored. DVDFab will try to do some of this for you automatically if you have PathPlayer enabled. Select Change DVD playback order->Jump to main movie if you are using Customize mode. This will preserve the menus and extras but skip all the junk on playback. If you don't want the menus or extras, just use Main Movie mode. Customize mode also lets you determine which content is included in your backup before processing starts, thus reducing the size of the backup and lowering the amount of compression if you are using DVD-5 blanks. Use the Preview window to check each title to see if you want to include it. To really cleanup and customize the way a DVD plays, you can install a free program called PGCEdit. It has a steep learning curve but gives you detailed control of the content. You will want to write the backups to a VIDEO_TS folder on your hard drive if you want to test the playback before burning it to disc.
