There are a number of msvcr90.dll files on my PCs...all of them except the DVDFab one reports the file size at 641KB.

The DVD FAB one reports as 614KB.

There is a very good chance that Heuristics is catching the different file size and saying WHOA!

      Thanx, Gruñón:

WHat is the file size of msvcr90.dll in your DVDFab directory?

        AVG version 9.0.0.836

What version is reporting the problem for you?
I'm running 9.0.893 of AVG...slightly newer (although not too much).

This must only be DVD related. My Blu-encoder machine has AVG and has the current update but is not flagging anything as a threat. It is currently encoding a Blu-disc.

            V7078 and 7079 report it as 614kb

There is something else causing the problem for some but not all members.

              I suspected as much.

I'm moving up to a bet right now...we'll see if AVG barks when that's done.

7.0.7.9 beta makes AVG bark that same error I'm setting AVG to ignore it as a threat and carrying on with my life.

Having the same problem and AVG won't ignore the issue.

                  Dev Help?

Ignoring the issue didn't work for me either. As well, checked the size of this file in other locations and it ranged between 639 and 641k. Copying and pasting from another location to the DVDFab folder didn't help either.

Not sure what to try next....

It is not a fab dev problem.. Report it to your virus dev.

Does anyone know how to report a false positive threat to AVG?

I think it's time I dumped AVG free and try something else!

                            Workaround here

Gotta be a false positive. This is a redistributable Microsoft file that hundreds of developers include with their software installations. Clicking the Ignore button only dismisses the dialog. In order to continue using DVDFab, you need to add an exception in AVG for the problem file. (I just did this and DVDFab is working now.)
                            1. Double-click the AVG tray icon to launch the AVG config UI.
                            2. Go to Tools > Advanced Settings > Resident Shield > Excluded Files.
                            3. Click Add, then browse to the exact path/file that AVG was complaining about (in this case, Msvcr90.dll in the DVDFab install folder).
                            4. Click OK to close AVG Advanced Settings.
                            5. Re-launch DVDFab.

I do not know how to report these problems to AVG, and their link to find more details about a given infection NEVER EVER WORKS.

I've been using AVG for quite a while and over the years, they have come up with a lot of false positives right after new updates. That workaround works great. I have quite a few files I have had to do that to.
