Blank Media Verbatrim dvd-r

I just bought a 100 pack for 19.99 at Best Buy and pit a disk on a DVD Identifier this is what i got:

ok' any MOD, is this media all right? I mean, at least it's not (RITECH)

Your Thoughts on this would be greatly appreicated.

I have never used it,everything I have likes +R. Do you need -R for a particular player or application?

Did the package have AZO on it as your DVD-R verbatim are CMC and should be MCC

(MIT)Made in Taiwan with AZO is what you want for the 4.7gb media and (MIS)made in Singapore is what you want for the 8.5gb media

Agree with my pal AGJ...you're lumping all verbatim media together.
Historically, Verb +R DL media was made in Singapore, and more recently, started to be manufactured in India as well.
The SL Verbs (both -R/+ R) were made in Taiwan, some in Japan..at least this was the good stuff with the MCC... MID.

Now Verbs are showing up from the UAE, China, etc.
It's really frustrating, hard to keep tabs on and honestly a very sad commentary on the industry and economy as a whole.

As AGJ said, please look for the Advanced AZO label and logo before buying

...or you could do as both of us and use Taiyo Yuden
TY is still made in Japan and is the best of the best.
We both are partial to +R media and specifically to
YUDEN000 T02 000 (00h)
This is +R 8X media and the best SL media on the planet, bar none...not JMO...

TY now carries the JVC label, but fear not since Taiyo Yuden acquired JVC and not the other way around as commonly and erroneously reported.

Thanks Grunion and the pack that i got was a white wrapper and it said life series on the label

A search of the net says that......

Verbatim Life Series DVD-R = CMC MAG AM3

Verbatim Life Series DVD+R = CMC MAG M01-00

Neither of them have the AZO label on them.

The reviews are not good.

Oh yeah the Life series are the worst Verbs you can get, they're basically Memorex.
