do you lose video quality when you shrink a dvd with DVDFAB?

when doing the DVD to DVD option on the main panel there is an option to rip the DVD to its original size (in the Quality pull down menu) which can usually result in a Fulldisc folder whose size can be anywhere around 7GB depending.

Or you can use the option to make it fit into a regular DVD whose size we know is 4,7GB.

if I choose this second option (so that the results can be burned into a regular DVD) do I lose any video or audio quality? Or can DVDFab make it smaller WITHOUT any LOSS to video/audio quality>

    thanks!

You will lose some quality, there is no free lunch. The Quality% readout shows an indication of the difference in the average bitrate. Normally, a readout of 80-85% produces very good results.

Also, don't forget that if you just use 'Main Movie" and cut out a lot of the crap extras, you can minimise or even totally negate any quality loss.
