I'm having the "Finishing installation..." bug also.
Win7 -64 machine. No firewall, no antivirus, UAC completely disabled, no anything.

This is my gaming machine, so it has DVDFab and Everquest 2 installed and that's it. (Not even a word program) .

So we don't have the common pattern yet...

    NVidia graphics here.. others?

My install options were default but no quick launch icon.

For me it is the same. I checked the program with a mate and is the same situation. The program does not run on Windows XP, but works on Windows 7.
I ran "Process Explorer" and there is not a process of DVDFab. The program simply does not start.

So I tried to install DVDFab8 about 5 times, it hung on all of them on the finishing thing. (As noted above in my post). It made the DVDFab 8 icon.. but when I click it, "Nothing" happens as stated in many other posts people are having issues with.

I was thinking.. what would it be "finishing"? I went and installed it 1 more time, this time I checked make quick icon and changed the install path so it wasn't the default one. It installed fine.. so I then tried to load it.. worked FINE.

Anyone having this error.. try this:
        Restart your computer.
Install again, change the default directory (Don't have it install in program files), and check all 3 boxes.
Make no promises this will work.. but it just did for me.

Kannkor, does not work for me

Small patch: with a colleague Windows 7 - DVDFab v8 working. For me on Windows 7 installer does not want to finish the installation.

Thanks Craig, what antivirus/security suite do you have? Any unusual settings in Windows (i.e. prefetch, UAC, DEP)?

Avast 5.0.594 free, malwarebytes pro and spywareblaster on xp and 7 with uac disabled. Standard windows firewall on each. Nothing unusual in either, all have latest windows updates of course. Dep is enabled on both with exception of dvdfab as set standard. Both downloaded with ie8, only browsers on cpu.

                  Dear all,

If you have startup problem on Windows XP, please try DVDFab 8003 internal beta to see the result:

I was not having a problem with start up but it was much slower than it should have been.

V8003B is opening much faster than V8002 so even those that do not have a start up problem should download V8003B to increase start up speed.

The problem wasn't XP, or just XP, because I ran it fine on my XP laptop from the thumb drive.
How to post the internal log

I have downloaded and installed 8002 okay with no problems that I know of, haven't actually used it yet, however I cannot find any link to 8003B except on this thread.

Do you recommend everyone download 8003B from here?

                                Thank you.
