    Replacing--How to Reinstall DVDfab?

I am replacing a hard drive due to some problems with the current one--can't be backed up by a home server.

I would be very grateful, if any one can teach me how to reinstall the DVDfab onto to the new hard drive. Do I have to delete or cancel the one being removed for dumpster?

    Many thanks, again,

If the hard drive is being trashed, you do not need to worry about it. If you can still access the drive, you should delete your DVDFab key file if it is located on the drive. If the key file is "captured" and used by others, your key will be blacklisted and the features you have paid for will no longer work (and no more updates).

Just install the latest version of DVDFab when you get the new drive up and running. Then download a replacement key if you need it and go through the registration procedure. Again, if you still have access to the drive, you can put the key file on a USB drive temporarily, then put it on the new drive when the installation is finished.

      Dear Administrator,

Thank you very much for the prompt instructions. Can you, however, teach me how to copy the key from the current drive? And, after copying, how do I delete or cancel the key from the one being dumped?

One more thing, I am keeping 7 and 8 versions on my desktop, just in case the 8 gives me problems. Can I copy both to the new hard drive?

      Many thanks, again,

You will need the installers for the versions you wish to install on the new drive. Perhaps you kept the installers when you downloaded them. If not, they can probably be found or someone can email them to you. The key file may not be on the old drive unless you stored the email that contained it there. If needed, you can obtain a duplicate key from the "Members" link at the top of the dvdfab.com home page by registering with the email address that was used for the purchase. It allows you to download your key file directly, without an email. Any key from v6 or later will work. Post the earlier version you would like, either I or one of the Moderators will send it to you at the email you registered with here at the forum. Version releases in the 7 and 8 series install into different fiolders and will coexist without problems on your PC. Install and register the older one first.
