DVDFAB sent me the wrong program!

I ordered DVDFAB last night, which took forever in an attempt to process correctly, I ordered DVDFAB through an expired dvdfab6 program by clicking on "purchase DVDFAB"

I was sent a key, it did not activate DVDFAB so I went to the e-mail sent and D-loaded the program using link provided and installed it, that program ended up being something called passkey, this is NOT what I ordered, nor what I wanted..

I have tried sending a note to support but it just hangs and goes no where..

I really want to avoid a fraudulent charge through my bank, but I ordered DVDFAB because I need it, I don't need a program I know nothing about..

if someone knows who to forward this to please do, e-mail used is the same as the one used for this account..

I think you will have to go through support to get this all worked out. Don't worry about it, DVDFabs Support is awesome, they will get you sorted out as soon as they're able.

The link in the old program may have been outdated, or you may have clicked on the wrong link somewhere. Go to the dvdfab.com website. Click on the link that says "Members" in the black bar near the top of the page. Click on the link on the next page that says "Register". Register using the email address you used for the purchase and make up a password. Respond to the confirmation email the system will send you. After registration is complete, log in to the member center and see which products you have a license for. If it is not what you thought you bought, send an email to service@dvdfab.com . If it is correct, click the download button and save the new key to your desktop. Try again to register your installed dvdfab.

at this point I feel as if I am being scammed as I get absolutely no response from the Author?

guess my only alternative is to report this as a fraud to my bank and maybe a scam to the FEDs?

whatever DVDFAB "passkey" is supposed to be I don't think it has a use in any event, some kind of region BS, I live in the US and thats where I buy my DVDs, I don't buy DVDs from foreign countries, even if I did they still play on my computer and my player is multi region anyways, aren't most?

now that stupid passkey is on my machine hijacking anything I put in the player,
POS! looks like a full reformat for me, thanks dvdfab....

Ok, the key that you have downloaded, does it say key.dvdfab6(or similar) or does it say key.dvdfabpasskey? I guarantee that support will work this out with you, just give them some time. You gotta settle down, take a pill, drink a beer, do what you gotta do man. And DVDFab Passkey is not useless. It's an on-the-fly decrypter, you stick in a BD or DVD disc and it's decrypted for you to process with whatever you want. Boom. Racem22 out.

Firstly, you need to contact the DVDFab support team, not the vendor customer support (Avangate).
                The generic link is here:

You may also contact support members individually, such as Anny, Ellen, Sunny and Malcolm.
                Here is Anny's contact info:
                anny@dvdfab.com

                As to Passkey...
The only Fab modules you have on your pc, are the ones that you chose to download and install.
                No one sent you software.
You can download any and every module and use them free for 30 days.
No one but you put Passkey on your pc and if you don't want it, do as Gummi suggested and uninstall it.
Afterall, you installed it...not anyone else.

                Hijacking...oh please.

What module did you want? DVD Copy?
                Just download it from here:

Once installed, the module will work and remain fully functional for 30 days only...unless activated.
Click on the ? mark icon upper right, then click About on the dropdown.
The modules and their status will be displayed.

Now you need to download the regkey from the member site and activate the module.

Once you activate the module, you should be all set.
If you run into problems, contact the support team with the links I provided above or if your're having trouble navigating the steps,
                post back here.

Posturing and threatening to contact the Feds will avail you nothing.
The long arm of the Feds does not extend to Beijing nor would they have reason to try.
Moreover, Fengtao is a man of integrity and would never cheat nor deceive anyone.

It sounds like links were outdated as signals suspects, but to be fair, at least some of the errors were on your end

Can't believe you do a drive format every time you want software removed .

In addition to the suggestion of using the windows uninstaller you can right click on the passkey icon in your tray and click on exit and it will close until you reboot.

Go into passkey setting and un click the box that says open when windows starts and it will not open unless you do it manually.

When you get to the point you can admit you screwed up then things can be corrected .

I couldn't agree more, maineman. As a matter of fact Fengtao does just the opposite of cheat and deceit. An example of this is his recent generosity of giving FREE licenses (Blu-ray to DVD, Blu-ray 3D Ripper) to loyal customers who have purchased his other products in the past.

I've never had a need for it but from what I read here in the forums the customer service from the DVDFab staff is top notch. Just give them a chance. They will definitely help you sort out your problems, nineball26.

Please gain some perspective in how things work here before casting aspersions. You have been told twice how to solve this problem, in my post and several others. The service team will take care of the problem.

let me start here, first off I had an expired copy of dvdfab5, I wanted dvdfab8, so I clicked on the "buy DVDFAB" button in dvdfab5, went through the ordering process, downloaded 8 and tried to enter the key that was sent to me, it didnt unlock it so I went back to the e-mail with the key and went to the d-load link and downloaded the program from the link that was in the e-mail..

thinking I had purchased dvdfab8 I simply installed what was downloaded, not knowing there was an error somewhere along the line, so now I have something called dvdfab "passkey" what that title has to do with on the fly encoding or regional setting eludes me but in any event thats where I am, YES I wanted dvdfab8!

as far as reformatting to remove the program its most likely best as I know how hard it is to remove everything from the registry and how finicky doze is with uninstalls, besides its something I never wanted on my machine in the first place..

someone mentioned Fentago was an integral individual, if this is true whay has he not contacted me, I sent out the e-mail, just about 10 minutes after I realized the error, bout 20 minutes after I made the online transaction..

all I want to do is back up some DVDs not get into an internet war or fraud debacle..

So you still didn't tell me, what does your key say? Does it say "key.dvdfabpasskey"? If it does, then you have accidentally purchased the wrong thing. As DVDFab is split into modules, what module were you attempting to buy? I'm guessing by you wanting to backup DVDs, that you want the DVD Copy Module, but if you plan on backing up DVDs onto mobile devices, i.e. cell phones, iphones, ipods, zunes, etc. then you need the DVD Ripper Module.
